Last updated 3 October 2026. Short version: we take your email and your survey answers so we can build Calanq and tell you when it opens. We don't sell them, we don't run ads, and we don't track you around the web.
What we collect
When you join the waitlist: your email address, plus the city you pick if you pick one.
When you take the survey: your answers. Every question is optional apart from your email.
With either of those: a few technical details from your browser, like your language, time zone, screen size, the page you came from, and any campaign tags in the link you clicked (for example utm_source). They help us see which cities and which posters are actually working.
Cookies: one, calanq-city, which remembers the city you chose. We don't use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or tracking pixels.
Why we collect it
- To email you that you're on the list, and again when the Workshop opens.
- To read the survey answers and decide what to build, and what not to.
- To keep spam and bots off the list.
We rely on your consent to hold your waitlist details, and on our legitimate interest in keeping the site safe and working.
Who touches it
The Calanq Collective, and the services we pay to run the site:
- Neon stores the database.
- Resend sends our emails.
- Our hosting provider serves the site and keeps ordinary server logs.
That's it. We don't sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers, and we don't feed it into AI models.
How long we keep it
Until Calanq opens and you either join the crew or tell us you're out. If Calanq never opens, we'll delete the waitlist.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, export it, or delete it. You can also withdraw your consent at any time. Reply to any email we've sent you and we'll handle it, usually within a few days and always within a month.
If you're in the EU or UK and think we've got this wrong, you can complain to your data protection authority. In France that's the CNIL, in the UK it's the ICO. We'd rather you came to us first.
Changes
If we change how we handle your data, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If the change is a big one, we'll email you before it takes effect.
